Verly Terms of Service

Effective date: August 22, 2026

These Terms govern your access to and use of Verly. By accepting these Terms, you enter into an agreement with the operator of Verly. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Eligibility

For the current Verly public beta, you must be at least 13 years old to hold an account. Verly may use a privately supplied date of birth to apply age-appropriate protections. Your date of birth is not intended to appear on your public profile.

2. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining control of your account credentials and for activity performed through your account. Do not impersonate another person, create accounts for deceptive purposes, or attempt to bypass safety, moderation, age, blocking, rate-limit, or access controls.

3. Social features and messaging

Verly may provide community posts, comments, prayer features, profiles, message requests and direct messaging. A person's ability to contact another person may depend on age protections, request acceptance, blocks, safety controls and other restrictions. Blocking a person may revoke messaging consent. Unblocking does not necessarily restore prior messaging permission.

4. Minors and safety

Sexual exploitation or solicitation of minors, grooming, requests for sexual imagery involving minors, coercive secrecy, inappropriate arrangements to meet a minor, trafficking, credible threats, extortion and similar conduct are prohibited. Verly may block, preserve, investigate or report content or accounts where reasonably necessary for safety or legal compliance.

5. Prohibited use

You may not use Verly to facilitate fraud, trafficking, prohibited sales, credible threats, doxxing, exploitation, harassment, malicious spam, unlawful access, or other unlawful conduct. Good-faith educational, pastoral, recovery, news, historical or prevention-oriented discussion of difficult topics is not prohibited merely because the topic itself is sensitive.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of content that you create, subject to rights that may belong to others. You grant Verly a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, store, reproduce, process, moderate, transmit and display your content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve and provide the service, comply with law, and enforce these Terms.

You must have the rights necessary to submit content to Verly. Do not upload content that unlawfully violates another person's copyright, privacy, publicity or other rights.

7. Moderation and enforcement

Verly may use automated and manual safety controls. Content may be blocked, limited, removed, preserved for safety review, or associated accounts may be restricted or terminated. Automated systems are not guaranteed to be perfect. You may contact Verly if you believe a safety or moderation action was taken in error.

8. Privacy

Use of Verly is also governed by the Verly Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, why it is used, how long certain information may be retained, and the rights available to you.

9. Religious and educational content

Verly contains Christian, biblical, community and educational material. Content is provided for informational, educational and faith-oriented purposes. Verly is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, mental-health or emergency advice.

10. Third-party services

Verly relies on service providers and infrastructure providers, including cloud, authentication, hosting and notification services. Availability may therefore depend partly on third-party systems.

11. Service availability

Verly may change, suspend or discontinue features. During beta testing, features may contain errors or change without notice. We do not promise that the service will always be uninterrupted or error-free.

12. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Verly is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties that cannot lawfully be excluded. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, guarantees, remedies or other rights that applicable law says cannot be excluded or waived.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Verly and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from use of the service where such liability may lawfully be limited. Nothing in these Terms limits liability or remedies where doing so is prohibited by applicable consumer, privacy or other law.

14. Responsibility for misuse

To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for losses caused by your unlawful use of Verly, your violation of another person's rights, or your material breach of these Terms.

15. Informal dispute notice

Before commencing a civil claim relating to Verly, you and Verly agree, where permitted by applicable law, to first provide written notice describing the dispute and make a good-faith effort to resolve it for 30 days. Notices to Verly may be sent to legal@getverly.app.

This informal process does not prevent anyone from contacting a privacy, consumer-protection or other regulator, law enforcement, emergency services, seeking urgent or injunctive relief, or exercising a right that applicable law does not permit these Terms to restrict or waive.

16. Governing law

Except where mandatory law provides otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada. Mandatory consumer and privacy protections in your place of residence continue to apply where required.

17. Account termination

You may stop using Verly and may use the account-deletion controls provided in the service. Verly may restrict or terminate accounts for serious or repeated violations, safety risks, legal requirements or misuse.

18. Changes to these Terms

Verly may update these Terms. When a material update requires renewed acceptance, Verly may prevent continued account use until the current version is accepted. Acceptance versions and timestamps may be retained as evidence of the agreement.
