Jesus Heals a Paralytic
Mark 2
Jesus returns to Capernaum, and a large crowd gathers at the house where He is teaching. Four men, unable to reach Jesus through the crowd, lower their paralytic friend through the roof. Seeing their faith, Jesus declares the paralytic's sins forgiven, which provokes internal questioning from some scribes present. Jesus, perceiving their thoughts, challenges them by asking whether it is easier to forgive sins or to heal. To demonstrate His authority to forgive sins, Jesus commands the paralytic to rise, pick up his mat, and go home. The man immediately obeys, astonishing the crowd, who glorify God.
