Scripture first. Cinema second.

Verly exists to help people encounter biblical stories in a modern format without confusing visual reconstruction with the authority of the biblical text.

What that means in practice.

Anchor the story to its passage. The source passage should always remain visible and identifiable.
Do not deliberately contradict the text. When Scripture provides a detail, cinematic choices should respect it.
Do not turn reconstruction into doctrine. Scenery, clothing, weather, architecture and staging may visualize what the passage does not specify.
A note on translations

Passages are identified; cinematic scenes are not Scripture.

This website quotes selected passages from the King James Version. Verly should identify the biblical passage behind a story rather than implying that every cinematic detail comes directly from the text.
